LSC alumni heading to Loserville this spring!
LSC graduates Morgan Scott and Ryan Ridley are currently in rehearsals for the Union Theatre revival of Loserville, which opens at the south London venue on 25 February. Choreography for the show is by Matt Krzan, LSC graduate and jazz teacher.
The show originally ran at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and premiered in the West End in 2012. Set in 1971, this tongue-in-cheek, geek-chic show follows the exploits of teenager Michael Dork, as he attempts to change the world and get the girl of his dreams, to the tune of an energetic rock-pop score.
Ryan graduated from LSC in 2014 with the Merrifield Award, after playing the voice of Audrey II to rave reviews in Seedtime’s production of Little Shop Of Horrors. Since graduating he has toured with new musical Blockbuster and now plays the role of Wayne Pagoda in Loserville. Morgan also graduated as a member of Seedtime company in 2013, and last year performed in the world premiere of Water Babies at the Leicester Curve Theatre, which has since been nominated for Best Regional Production in the 2015 WhatsOnStage Awards.
Fellow LSC graduate Matt Krzan is also choreographing the show. Matt has enjoyed a series of West End and touring credits since graduating from London Studio Centre, including performing in The Book of Mormon, Chicago, La Cage Aux Folles, Cats, Elf the Musical, Starlight Express and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He has also choreographed Cool Rider in the West End and last year choreographed a number for LSC’s Dance Overture at the New Wimbledon Theatre. Matt has also taught regularly for LSC and will be teaching a Music Theatre Workshop at MOVE IT 2015.
Congratulations to Ryan, Morgan and Matt – we look forward to seeing this brand new production of Loserville, which runs at the Union Theatre from 25 February to 21 March. Click here to buy tickets.
