London Studio Centre normally auditions all prospective students.
Successful candidates will normally have the physical aptitude and commitment to professional dance training and be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate through movement.
BA (Hons) Theatre Dance
Previous dance experience is a prerequisite when applying for the BA (Hons) Theatre Dance degree programme. A-level Dance is desirable but not essential. Applicants under 21 years of age must have obtained a minimum of two A-level passes*, plus three different GCSE passes of grade 4 or higher (Grade C if awarded prior to 2017) including GCSE English (or equivalent qualifications), and have accumulated 96 UCAS points.
*A-Level Equivalents: Normally, BTEC Level 3 qualifications, Access to HE Diploma, International Baccalaureate, Scottish Highers and Advanced Scottish Highers, Irish Leaving Certificate, Norwegian Vitnemål, German Abitur, Apolytirion. UCAS points from Graded Dance, Speech and Drama Exams will not normally form part of a formal offer.
English Language Requirements
Applicants whose first language is not English must complete the British Council IELTS academic test at 6.0 or above (with minimum 5.5 in any component) or show evidence of an equivalent level of achievement prior to the commencement of the course. Middlesex University also offers an Intensive Academic English course (Pre-Sessional) that ranges from 6-30 weeks, depending on your level of English. Successful completion of this course would normally meet English language entry requirements for London Studio Centre.
Applicants should normally meet the requirements listed for the BA (Hons) Theatre Dance programme in order to be considered for progression onto the degree programme following the successful completion of the one-year course.
London Studio Centre Diploma
Entrance to the Diploma programme is by audition only, there are no academic requirements for this course.
One-Year Professional Diploma Programme
Previous full-time dance training is essential for this ‘post-graduate’ level training programme. Entrance is by audition only.
Specialist One-Year Programme
Entrance to the Specialist One-Year Programme is by audition only, there are no academic requirements for this course.
