LSC at Move It 2019!!

Over the years Move It has grown into the biggest and best dance event for industry professionals across the dance and performing arts sectors to network, perform and celebrate their work, and London Studio Centre is once again a part of the action. From Friday 8th to Sunday 10th March this year, Move It returns to the Excel centre in London’s Docklands.

For several years LSC has reserved a stand at Move It, wowing the crowds with brilliant performances on the main stage, open dance classes from some of the best teachers and choreographers in the business, and a stand staffed by people who are experts on all things LSC. Want to know more about the courses we offer? Want to get tips on how to audition for a dance course? Want to try your hand at a Hip Hop class? For all these things and more, come and find London Studio Centre at Stand 155! Here’s a taster of what we’ve got planned:

Open classes led by LSC teachers including a Chicago workshop led by original London cast member Robbie O’Reilly (Artistic Director of LSC’s 3rd Year company JazzCo); a Jazz Dance session for young dancers run by LSC alumna and Head of our Saturday Associate Programme Cris Penfold; a Hip Hop workshop with Duwane Taylor (Buckness Personified); and a Music Video Commercial Dance session with Nikki Trow (X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, Little Mix). To see the full list of classes we’re offering just follow THIS LINK and filter by location to the LSC Studio – you’ll be able to see London Studio Centre-run classes on the right hand side under ‘Company/Teacher’. To take part in any of the classes we’re running all you need to do is add them to your basket when ordering your Move It tickets online.

You’ll also be able to spot us on Move It’s Main Stage, with members of LSC’s Performance Team dancing pieces choreographed by Becki Howell (LSC alumna and Associate Choreographer to Lynne Page on such shows as My Fair Lady and American Psycho) and Kenrick Sandy MBE (the Olivier Award winning Pied Piper). Becki brings us Monocrat, a Jazz/Musical Theatre piece, which will be performed during the first slot on Friday 8th from 10.30-11.10am and Kenrick presents Contact, a Hip Hop piece which will be performed during the first slot on Sunday 10th from 10.30-11.10am.

And finally, LSC’s Director, Nic Espinosa, will be taking part in a Seminar entitled What are they looking for? Top Tips for Training Auditions. You’ll be able to join him in the Move It Pro Seminar Room on Friday 8th from 3.45pm. All the seminars are FREE to attend and open to all – check out the full seminar programme HERE.
