Jamie Carter is an LSC graduate from the Ballet Pathway who performed with Scottish Ballet before joining Sarasota Ballet in Florida where he remained for 13 years as a Soloist. His repertoire included lead roles in works by renowned choreographers such as Ashton, Balanchine, MacMillan, Tudor and Graham.
Jamie has guested with The Suzzanne Farrell Ballet and danced in tours to New York City (The Joyce Theatre and New York City Centre), The Kennedy Centre, Jacobs Pillow and Salt Lake City. During his time in the USA, he worked closely with Margaret Barbieri, the original Director of Images of Dance and the Assistant Director of Sarasota Ballet, where he developed his career as a choreographer, creating over 10 works for Sarasota Ballet and restaging one of these works for the Images tour 2012.
In 2020, Jamie founded Capital Ballet, an innovative program dedicated to creating and showcasing new ballets. Capital Ballet offered a unique Performance Intensive program for students and graduates, furthering Jamie’s commitment to dance education. As Jamie steps into this exciting new chapter with Images Ballet Company, he looks forward to continuing to share his passion for dance, creativity, and performance.
Edd Mitton is taking on the artistic directorship of INTOTO Dance, our Contemporary Dance company. As an LSC graduate, Edd brings a deep understanding of the school along with many years of professional experience as a dancer, choreographer, director and teacher.
Edd has performed in Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake (UK and International Tour), Cabaret by Javier de Frutos (Savoy Theatre), Pet Shop Boys/Javier de Frutos’ The Most Incredible Thing (Sadlers Wells), for which he was also associate choreographer, and many other projects with Darren Ellis Dance, Stephen Pelton Dance Theatre, Lynne Page, The Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne and Opera de Lille. More recently he has established a long association with Yorke Dance Project as a company dancer and rehearsal director.
As a teacher, Edd has worked with many of the UK’s top conservatoires and has been a faculty member at London Studio Centre since 2015.
Edd takes over from former INTOTO Artistic Director, Sue Booker, who proudly held the position since 1992. Sue remains with LSC as Head of Contemporary Dance.
