The Contemporary Dance pathway at London Studio Centre is available on multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Technical training is delivered by prominent teachers in the field alongside classes in Ballet, Jazz and Commercial Dance. Masterclasses and workshops provide opportunities to explore and develop creatively whilst engaging with current professional practitioners.
Performance is embedded throughout the year with regular opportunities for students to share their work and to perform work especially commissioned by current professional choreographers. Masterclasses and workshops provide opportunities to explore and develop creatively whilst engaging with current professional practitioners. Recent workshops include Luke Brown, Kayleigh Price, Faye Stoeser, Caledonia Walton and Laura Weston.
This also provides students with important networking opportunities with potential employers and collaborators. Graduates from the Contemporary Dance pathway have enjoyed wide-ranging careers across the professional dance sector as performers, choreographers and arts managers. Our Contemporary Dance alumni have worked with many reputable companies including Rambert, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Okham’s Razor, Lost Dog, Frantic Assembly, Company Chameleon, Lila Dance, Motionhouse, Mark Bruce Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, Punchdrunk and Yorke Dance Project.
