In June 2025, we proudly reported that (then) student, James Bamford, was about to launch his latest show, BUSK, from Project Dance – the company he founded when he was only 14. The production was a success, with the Fine Times Recorder describing it as a “exciting, sad, thoughtful, provocative, engaging and joyous dance theatre work”.
While Project Dance have been hard at work on their next production, Things I’ve Never Said, James has also been putting the producing skills he honed on our MA Dance Production & Management programme to bid for Arts Council Funding that would greatly increase the reach of BUSK.
Project Dance were successful in their bid to re-stage BUSK, and announced in late August they have received Arts Council Funding worth £49,768, along with support from other charities, local authorities and independent philanthropists.
2026 LSC & Jazz Co graduate, Alice Hatfield, performed in the 2025 tour of BUSK.

- 30/03 — The Albany Theatre, Coventry
- 31/03 — Mansfield Palace Theatre, Mansfield
- 02/04 — Exeter Northcott, Exeter
- 04/04 — Redgrave Theatre, Bristol
Other dates are yet to be announced.
Whilst on tour, Project Dance will also deliver 27 school workshops, open company classes, community curtain-raisers and opportunities for local young dancers to appear in some of the performances.
The 2025 tour of Busk featured previous LSC students Nikolaï Havrehed, Francesca Daden, Sophie Lawson, Bethany Gunn, Erin Plimley, Eva Blackmore, Eddie Zickerman, Alice Hatfield and Grace Noelle, who co-wrote the show with Bamford.
