Auditions take place from December to April of the year of entry.
The audition is run on one day in two stages with applicants auditioning for one of four specialist pathways. The audition takes the form of an assessment in three dance technique classes: ballet, contemporary dance, and jazz dance.
In the afternoon, applicants have the opportunity to present a range of solos. Applicants for the Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Jazz & Commercial pathways will perform a dance solo with the option to sing. Applicants for the Musical Theatre pathway will have the opportunity to workshop their song and monologue as part of the audition. Musical Theatre applicants can also perform a dance solo if they wish to do so.
Parents and guardians are most welcome to come along on the audition day; a talk will take place at each audition for parents and guardians to attend.
Following the audition, the audition panel will submit their recommendations to the Admissions Review Board. Applicants will receive the outcome of their audition via email with further details about entrance requirements, pathways and how to accept the place.
Applicants who audition successfully for one of London Studio Centre’s full-time programmes will be required to complete a registration form, sent via DocuSign, provide identification documents and pay a £500 non-refundable registration fee to secure their place.
